Duaringa State School is a band 5 school located in the Emerald District. The community of Duaringa is located 120 km west of Rockhampton and 80 km east of Blackwater along the Capricorn Highway. The school was established in 1876 and has a current enrolment of approximately 58 students.

Our school rules are:

  • Be safe
  • Be respectful
  • Be responsible
  • Be a learner

At Duaringa State School we work together with the community, to give every student the best education possible. An individualised approach is utilised to work on each child’s strengths and weaknesses to ensure they progress adequately throughout the year in all subject areas.

Our school is well resourced by teachers, teacher aides, support/facilities staff and tangible resources to assist implementing the rigorous and enriching curriculum. Each classroom is equipped with an abundance of computers and an interactive whiteboard as well as having access to iPads to support a range of learning activities. All staff at this school regularly participate in performance discussions with the Principal to ensure they are adequately trained and equipped to deliver their area of service to a very high standard.

Our school pool along with visiting experts assist in implementing a strong swimming program to all students at the school. The skills gained from this give the students an opportunity to participate in any of the district swimming events such as the Small Schools Swimming Carnival and the District Swimming Carnival. Students also participate in the Duaringa Sports Carnival, Small Schools Sports Day, Duaringa District Cross Country and district sports days in Blackwater.

At Duaringa State School we are working towards every student succeeding and becoming life long learners who are able to be global citizens. Our students are friendly, encouraging and proud of the school they attend. Our highly skilled and dedicated administration team, teaching and auxiliary staff team look forward to working with you and your family to achieve the highest levels of academic, social, sporting and cultural excellence at Duaringa State School. We look forward to welcoming you into our Duaringa family in the future.
